Industry experience

As a civil engineer and water resources professional in Pakistan, I have contributed to projects on transboundary water cooperation in the Kabul River Basin, water insecurity in industrial urban areas, disaster risk management planning, irrigation master planning for high-altitude dam command areas, and design of small dams. I also have professional experience using GIS and remote sensing tools for hydrological and agro-ecological assessments.

My work has included project management and implementation; business development; quality control and authorship of knowledge products such as policy briefs, working papers, and project reports; facilitation of policy dialogues and focus group discussions; and applied research on climate change, water resources, disaster risk assessment, and environmental policy.

  • Member of the WCRP-ESMO Working Group on Observations for Researching Climate (WGORC) (2025 – 2029)
  • Member of the WCRP-CliC working group on Impacts of Changes in the Mountain Cryosphere (IC-MontC) (2025 – 2028)
  • CMIP7 Data Request Land and Land Ice author team (2024 – 2025)

I have participated on review panels and award committees for various programs including the UCAR Next Generation Fellowship, ASP postdoctoral fellowship, NCAR Earth System Science Internship, Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Pakistan), and Fulbright Program (Pakistan).
